Open the Start menu and click the "Gadget and Printers" icon. This will open a window with a list of the printers presently establish on your computer system.
Double-click on the icon of the printer you wish to alter to online. The status of the printer will be revealed as either "Printer: Ready" or "Printer: Offline.".
Click "Printer: Offline, " and the Printer menu will appear. Click "Printer" in the menu bar and uncheck "Usage Printer Offline." This action will alter the printer from offline to online. Change Printer to Online.
Open System Preferences by clicking the icon in the Dock.
Go to the Print & Fax control board under the Hardware classification.
Select the printer you wish to take online from the list on the left side of the screen. Then click the "Open Print Line" button.
Change Printer to Online, Click the "Resume Printer" button at the top of the line window to alter the printer from offline to online.
